Your Lullaby

Can you sing me a lullaby, as I drift off to sleep?
I’ll wipe my wet face dry, a happy facade I’ll try to keep.

These dark nights are too long, I feel trapped inside my room.
But I can hear your soothing song, while I gaze up at the moon.

I’m hoping for a dream tonight, maybe one of you and I.
I don’t care if it’s dark or bright, I just want to say goodbye.

My consciousness is fading, my thoughts are put aside.
I hope that you’re waiting to greet me on your side.
