As it glows through my blinds in the morning,
It makes me think that it missed me.
Caressing my cheek without any warning,
It instantly pulls all the bad thoughts free.
Are you asking me to come out and play?
Do you trust me to wish away a rainy day?
I look above, and the sky is blue.
It’s a secret, but I trust you too.
Without the light, I would sleep forever.
Be stuck in the void, surrounding me wherever.
No one would notice, no one would care.
After all, there would be no one there.
But every morning will eventually pass,
No light could possibly forever last.
It chased away the shadow that cast,
Now I think it’s time to get breakfast.
